Per via delle loro proprietà rinvigorenti, le foglie venivano immerse nell'acqua del bagno affinché il corpo ne trovasse beneficio. La pianta di Artemisia, riconoscibile per il colore delle foglie verde argento e del fiore giallo-rossastro, è diffusa in tutto il bacino del Mediterraneo.
